1987 – 91 Hardees California Raisins Figurines

You can practically hear Marvin Gaye’s classic ballad “I Heard it Through the Grapevine” when you look at these classic Hardee’s California Raisins. The first set of figurines was offered in 1987 by Hardees to promote cinnamon raisin rolls.
These are 7 California Raisins collected from the first, second, and third series: Boom box raisin, surfer raisin, “We’re no. 1″ raisin, roller blade raisin, hands out raisin, bowling raisin, and backup singer raisin. Figures are hand painted in bright colors and average about 2” to 2.5” tall and have copyright dates 1987, 1988, and 1991.

It’s the original California Raisins! This set was first offered over a third of a century ago in 1987 by Hardees to promote Hardees cinnamon raisin rolls and helped usher in the golden age of fast food collectables. Each figure is about 2″ tall and hand painted, with 1987 CALRAB trademark on the feet . These are getting more rare every day.

Hardee’s helped fuel the trend of giving away a toy with food purchase back in the 1980’s and it all started with the California Raisins. The giveway was hugely popular with adults as well as children. This is a set of 4 original limited edition Raisins, each one still sealed in their original poly bag. Anita Break has her hands full from shopping, including a bag with the Hardee’s logo. Alotta Stile is jamming with her boom box, Benny is wearing his bowling gear, and Buster is stylin’ with his skateboard! Each figure is about 2 1/2” tall and brightly painted. Each collector card is 3 1/2” x 2 1/2” and printed front and back and tells the story of each character.

How’s this for a unique item? It’s Champion Auto Store’s Flag Champ Man, who has a flag for a head! This item is tagged with the vintage Russ Berrie logo (now called Kid Brands). He’s a 6 inch tall supersize bendee, dressed in his work uniform and sporting the Champion Auto logo both front and back. We have one Flag Champ man packaged in his original packaging, After the packaged version is sole, subsequent orders will receive the unwrapped version.

2002 Nathan’s Famous Frankster Coin Keepers Set of 4

This is a rare set of Nathan’s Famous Franksters kids meal figures from 2002. This set has a fun summer theme, with 3 fun sports figures. But the most interesting piece is a Frankster standing next to a hot dog cart. Unlike most Frankster bendees, this set is hollow, designed with a slot on the bottom for holding coins or other small items. Each figure has an attached caribeener clip. They each measure about 4″ tall. This is a proof set from the manufacturer and was packed in plain polybags.
BONUS! Also included is an even older, more obscure Frankster Bendee, the Lion Tamer, with a 1995 date embossed on the back. This is a solid vinyl style bendee and measures 5″ tall.

2002 Nathan’s Famous Franksters “A Tribute to Heroes” 9/11 Bendees Collector Set of 4 in Packages

Here is a very rare complete set of four bendee figures, originally released on the first anniversary of 9/11 by Nathan’s Famous, a New York City icon for more than a century. Nathan’s Famous has offered many Frankster bendees over the years, but these are by far the most rare. These are the only fast food kids toys (and ANY type of toy for that matter), designed specifically to commemorate NYC first responders of Sept. 11, 2001.
Each of the four bendees is about 4″ tall and features authentically styled vintage uniforms of the day, honoring the NYC Police, Fire Department, medical doctors and EMS responders. Each figure iis still sealed in it’s original poly bag. These are designer’s proof sets and include an original hand signed certificate of history and authenticity. This is a unique momento of a truly world-altering historical event and can’t be found anywhere else. After two decades only a few sets are left. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
